Type:                Soft

Loved by royalty from Charlemagne onwards, this Brie is one of only two types made artisanally in its original home just east of Paris.

Characteristics: while young its flavours are nutty with a hint of mushroom; as it ages, it develops pungency and a deeper, slightly acidic taste.

Best with: Can you really improve on a slice of Brie de Meaux, a fluffy, fresh baguette and a few grapes? We don’t think so.
